Sunday checklist
Sunday Livestream Setup Checklist
Use this before service starts so the team confirms destination, audio, framing, and stream health before the room is full.
Before volunteers arrive
- Confirm the published run sheet names one owner for camera, one for audio, and one for stream health.
- Verify the correct destination, stream key, title, and scene are loaded before the countdown starts.
- Power the full path early enough to catch cable, battery, or boot issues before the room fills.
Camera and framing
- Lock the main frame before lecterns, stands, or stage movement change the shot.
- Check exposure and white balance against the actual stage lighting, not just house lights.
- Keep one stable fallback shot ready if volunteers miss a move or preset.
Audio path
- Monitor the actual stream feed in headphones instead of trusting the room mix.
- Verify sermon intelligibility first, then music balance, then playback sources.
- Check for clipping, muted buses, or a lost USB/interface route before service starts.
Encoder and connection
- Confirm the encoder receives stable audio and video at the intended quality target.
- Run one short confidence test so buffering, drift, or muted audio show up early.
- Keep the fallback downgrade path written down if bandwidth dips during launch.
Final 5-minute pass
- Start the countdown or holding scene and verify the right output is live.
- Assign one volunteer to watch stream health during the launch window.
- Keep the first corrective action simple: fix destination, speech audio, or the main frame first.
If something breaks
- Muddy sermon audio: go back to the direct feed and verify the speech path first.
- Buffering or drops: lower the operating target and confirm upload headroom.
- Volunteer overload: remove nonessential tasks before adding new gear or extra angles.
Keep the next step practical
When this checklist catches the same failure twice, standardize the workflow before buying more equipment. Use the setup guide for the full lane, then use the audio guide only if speech clarity is still the weak point.
